A simple loading order

  1. 01Stage restricted or questionable items off to the side before loading.
  2. 02Put heavier debris low and spread it across the floor of the dumpster.
  3. 03Break down boxes, shelving, boards, and flat material so air space does not eat capacity.
  4. 04Load bulky furniture around flatter debris instead of creating one big hollow pile.
  5. 05Stop at the top rail. The load needs to be safe to haul.
  6. 06Keep the pickup path clear when the project is done.

Common loading mistakes

  • Throwing light bulky items in first, then having no room for heavier debris
  • Piling material high in the middle instead of spreading it evenly
  • Mixing restricted items into the load and discovering the problem at pickup
  • Parking vehicles in front of the dumpster on pickup day
